Chief Accountant

The Chief Accountant will lead general accounting work, controls that all accounts are properly reconciled ensuring the integrity of accounting records. This role is responsible for the preparation of the monthly reporting to headquarters, statutory accounts and budget. The Chief Accountant may also participate actively to any other financial related activity such as treasury, capital expenditures, transfer pricing, tax returns. Additionally, this role promotes the documentation or improvement of any accounting projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Controls the completeness and accuracy of the general accounting work
  • Prepares monthly reporting, statutory accounts with annexes and budget to Line Manager
  • Ensure timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns and statistical reports in compliance with Czech legislation
  • Analyses IFRS guidelines, automates GL entries, and participates to any initiative improving the finance organisation
  • Coordinate and manage tax and financial audits, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors
  • Shares best practices and trains junior or senior accountants

Requirements:

  • High school/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a finance position
  • ACCA certification or a comparable qualification is advantage
  • Understanding of local regulatory requirements and standards
  • Understanding of Finance strategies, processes, and tools; SAP and Purchasing are advantage
  • Experience with tax compliance, transfer pricing, treasury, and credit management
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS guidelines
  • Fluent in Czech/Slovak and English spoken and written (B2 level); other languages are advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools, Excel in particular
  • demonstrable experience in Team building/people management/conflict management
  • Experience in task management, resource planning and organisation management
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Well-structured and organized work habits

 

 

Additional Details:

  • Fixed-term contract for 1 year with the possibility of unlimited extension
  • Start date 01.01.2025
